  • Categorical Free Eligibility for Migrant Children: Students certified as migrant children under the Migrant Education Program (MEP) of Title I, Part C of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), are categorically eligible for free meal benefits through the School Nutrition Program. In general, a migrant child is one who has moved across district lines within the last three years, in order to accompany a parent or guardian who is seeking or will be working in an agricultural position.
