Professional Development

Title I Part C Migrant Education Program Eligibility Certification Training for Migrant Liaisons: The Migrant Education Services staff will be offering two in-person training opportunities for any Migrant Liaison who would be interested in becoming certified for the Migrant Education Program (MEP), or in learning how children may qualify for the MEP.  Migrant Liaisons are not required to take the MEP certification test. This is only if your supervisor requests or approves for you to be trained and certified to determine MEP eligibility during the school year.

Minnesota Department of Education Student Access and Opportunity Calendar: Utilize this calendar to find the next Migrant Student Information Form (MSIF) Workshop or Making Connections Workshop: CALENDAR

Migrant Student Information Form Workshop: The Minnesota Department of Education contracts the Migrant Education Services team at TVOC to collect minimum data elements of every migratory student throughout the state, which is federally required.

We collect this data in the Migrant Student Information Form (MSIF) Excel Workbook. Once we collect the required minimum data elements, the Tri-Valley Opportunity Council Data team enters them into our state’s database (MIS2000).

We want to try something new this coming school year to support all our districts with migratory students in collecting the required data. We will hold monthly workshops open to the districts that will focus on the MSIFs. No need to register for the workshop. Just click on the link to attend. See you there!

Making Connections Workshop: Join us for a free Making Connections Workshop!

Are you passionate about supporting highly mobile families? Connect with fellow educators and the Minnesota Migrant Education Program team as we discuss collaboration efforts and innovative ways to help remove barriers for migratory students. Join one of the Making Connections Workshops to learn more about Minnesota migratory students.
