Energy Assistance Program

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides help to low income households by paying a portion of their heating bills. Eligibility is based on income and household size. Households with the lowest income and the highest heating costs receive the greatest benefit. Any Minnesota resident can apply for the program from October 1st through May 31st.

Energy Assistance Program services include:

  • Financial aid to pay a portion of heating costs.
  • Crisis funding for – disconnects, low fuel, and payment of monthly electric or natural gas bills for seniors 60+.
  • Furnace repair or replacement for households that are purchasing or own their home.
  • Referral for home Weatherization and other Human Services Programs.

Income Eligibility Guidelines:

 **If no household income complete the Verification of Income and Expenses Form**
