ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Known locally as fuel assistance, this program helps income eligible households with their home energy bills.  Assistance may include bill payment assistance, emergency assistance and energy related home repairs – fixing or replacing furnaces for those families that own their home.  Any Minnesota resident may apply for the program from October 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024. For more information, click here to go to the Minnesota Department of Commerce Energy Assistance web page.

SERVICE AREA: Minnesota counties of West Marshall, West Polk, and Norman Counties

ENERGY ASSISTANCE ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES:
The Minnesota Energy Assistance Program is available to Minnesotans who need help paying for their heating bills. Your eligibility for assistance is based on your last three full calendar months of household income prior to signing the application, or your most recent Federal Tax Form 1040 for self-employment income. The chart below will help you determine whether your household is eligible for financial assistance.
