Foster Grandparent Senior Companion Valley Housekeeping
Tri-Valley Opportunity Council, Inc. is the sponsoring agency for three Senior Programs; the Foster Grandparent (FG), Senior Companion (SC) and Valley Housekeeping (VHK) programs. Our goal is to promote independence and enhance the dignity of older and disabled persons and their families through a community-based system of opportunities, and services.

Become a Volunteer
- Foster Grandparents give their experience and their talent to improve the lives of children in need. You can help children develop the skills, confidence, and strength to succeed in life. Foster Grandparents make their neighborhoods stronger by helping children with special needs achieve their goals. Organizations that serve our children, schools, Head Start Centers, Development Achievement Centers, Non-profit Day Care Centers, and Juvenile Centers. Counties served are Polk, Norman, Clay, Becker, Mahnomen, Lake of the Woods, Pennington, Red Lake, Roseau, Marshall, and Kittson. - For an elderly person, a Senior Companion may be the difference between self-reliance and mere survival. With the help of you, older people with physical and emotional needs receive extra help so they can remain independently in their own homes without premature nursing home placement. Counties served are Polk, Norman, Clay, Mahnomen, Lake of the Woods, Pennington, Red Lake, Roseau, Marshall and Kittson. - Tri-Valley Housekeepers provide homemaking services to help older persons, and persons with disabilities, to live independently in their homes and communities. Housekeepers provide service in Polk, Pennington, Norman, Marshall, Roseau, Mahnomen, Clay, Lake of the Woods and Red Lake Counties. - The Valley Housekeeping Program is an essential community based service based on the principle that in-home care can help preserve or improve the quality of the recipients' live and reduce the need for unnecessary out-of-home care. Homemaker services are provided by trained and paid staff to eligible clients. Receive Senior Companion Assistance
- The Senior Companion Program is an essential community based service based on the principle that in-home care can help prevent premature nursing home placement. Senior Companions are adults 60+ who assist seniors to achieve this goal. They can help with grocery shopping, letter writing, and transportation to medical appointments and are there to be a friend.
