Rural Transportation Collaborative
Rural Transportation Collaborative a division of the Public Transportation Department for Tri-Valley Opportunity Council, Inc.
Rural Transportation Collaborative (RTC) is a mileage based volunteer transportation program. RTC has volunteers who donate their time but are reimbursed the IRS rate per mile they drive.
RTC is a public transportation system and people go to many places for medical, dental, court, visitations and many more reasons. This service was started to supplement the public transportation service. People use this service when the regular bus service is scheduled for another area, after regular service hours or on the weekends.
The core service area is Polk, Red Lake, Pennington and Norman Counties. We have working agreements with multiple other counties and have even provided service to North Dakota destinations.
Volunteers provide this service to the general public. Volunteers are reimbursed at the IRS rate. There is always a need for safe drivers in our system.
To schedule a ride a consumer needs to call the RTC. A single page application needs to be filled out prior to any rides. When a client is interested they need to call and we can give the client an estimate on what the charge will be. RTC does require ½ the estimated cost up front as a deposit on the ride for a new client for the first ride.
For more information contact the RTC at 866-884-2695 or 281-9082(locally).
